I don’t have a witty intro for you right now. I think I’m just a bit drained for today but that’s not going to stop me from checking out and sharing more amazing music. Honestly, it’s the only thing keeping me going today so let’s just jump right into “Bittersweet” from American Television.
American Television is a punk band from Washington DC. They just released an album a couple of days ago and, after hearing “Bittersweet”, I know that listening to that album is all I want to do with the rest of my day. With roots in punk but branches that go into pop-punk and skate punk, “Bittersweet” is an anthemic and catchy song. There’s a sense of grit and slight angst sprinkled throughout this song which is great but what I really love about this song is the relatability of it all. From the words to just the overall composition of this song, there was something truly addicting about “Bittersweet” to me. There’s this part right around the 1:30 mark in this song that reminded me of Dillinger Four in all of the best ways so make sure you stick with this track for a wee bit. I mean, the song is only two and a half minutes, I think you can afford that much time to American Television and truly think you’ll be spending a lot more time with them after you inevitably fall in love with this band.
