Girl at the Rock Shows

I love hearing debut songs and albums from people. It’s as if you are stepping into a whole new world that was just created. I find a thrill in it and “Younger Cooler Hotter”, from Eat Lead Tracy’s debut album, is definitely a thrill!

Eat Lead Tracy is a two-piece drum and bass band from Canada with as much power, if not more, than a full band. Their alt-punk vibe is loud and clear throughout this track as is the endless amount of energy this band seems to have. A catchy chorus and perfect lyrics are just the icing on the cake to this song. Lyrically, this song is about getting older in the music industry which is something that I struggle with on a daily basis. Hearing the stories in this track helped me feel a little less alone on this journey in this odd industry. Although there’s a punk energy throughout this song, there’s something also super chill about it. I don’t know if that is a way of conveying the story of the song or if that’s just the style of Eat Lead Tracy but I do know that I’m excited to check out more from this new band and see what they’re all about.
