This week has been a bit rough. I honestly don’t know why but I’ve just felt a bit more drained than usual which means I find myself lost in my daydreams a bit more than normal. Most of those daydreams reolve around friends of years gone by so it seems only perfect that “Kick It” from Full Blown Meltdown featuring ERGOtheEGO would hit my desk today because that’s exactly what this song is about.
Although it’s kind of a bummer of a topic to think about– all those friends that you wonder what happened to them after you went your separate ways and what not– this is a bop of a song. With clear roots in the emo and pop-punk scene, this song takes a second to kick in but, when it does, it will hook you instantly. although it’s easy to classify this as a pop-punk/emo vibe, there’s almost an almost hyperpop element to this song and a few electronic intricacies that give “Kick It” a super distinct sound. The song is fast and frantic and packs a punch so ready yourself before hitting play on this one– it will have you bopping around your space like a dang idiot– it’s that good.
