I hope you all had a good long weekend and were able to take some much needed time off. I know I did an although I’m paying the price for taking time off today with trying to get caught up, it was much needed and I am grateful for it. I’m also grateful for the amazing new music I have to share with you today because it’s giving me life, patience, and energy to get through my backlog of work from the weekend so let’s just get into it today, shall we?
“Socks” from Sundried Whales is a song that is as fun and quirky as it is deep. It’s a song about the aftermath of a breakup up from a toxic human and the tribulations that come with being a divorced cat dad. Like I said, quirky and fun and that message comes through loud and clear throughout this two and a half minute track. This is a pop-punk jam but not in the classic sense. The overall vibe of this track leans more into Joyce Manor / Hot Mulligan vein of pop-punk which just adds to the raw emotional power of the song. “Socks” will make you smile, make you want to dance, but also make you feel things deep down in your soul so get your Monday started off right by checking this song out and showing Sundried Whales some love.
