Happy Thursday, everyone! We are almost to the weekend and, I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for it. I’m not sure why but this week seems to be dragging while also flying by at the same time. I feel like I’ve been saying this same thing on a weekly basis and it’s weird but it’s just how things have been feeling lately. I both want things to slow down a wee bit while also speeding up. Long story short, I can’t win, never can, but I can listen to some amazing music today to help cope with these conflicting thoughts so let’s just do that.

“Drive” from Dead Stilettos is a jam even though the band refers to themselves as “your creepy uncle’s wedding band that plays god awful Rock n Roll”. There’s a very unfinished yet polished DIY feeling to this track that is absolutely addicting. Sure, it’s rock n roll but there are also clear nods to something a bit punkier throughout this track. The vocals, at times, reminded me a bit of IDLES but a little less threatening and intense. At the same time, there’s something absolutely commanding about this track that will have you captivated and tapping your toes to the infectious beat. “Drive” will get your heart pumping on this Thursday morning so if you’re dragging a wee bit or, like me, just working for the weekend at this point, check out this track and the rest of amazing songs that Dead Stilletos have to offer. It’ll get your day started off right for sure.
