For Fans Of: The Spill Canvas; Atmospheric Pop-Punk; Emotional Vocals
I have nothing witty right now and I’m sorry but I really don’t need a super creative intro when it comes to “Annabelle” from The Marvelous Acceptance. This track and this band truly speaks for themselves. That’s a good thing too as I was given zero details about this band or song with this track.
“Annabelle” has an almost atmospheric vibe to it that can be felt right at the beginning but it comes with a twist. Instead of airy vocals to match that almost atmospheric and dazzling guitar part that introduces you to this song, the vocals hit with a bit of a pop-punk and emo drenched sound. Obviously, this caught my attention and had me falling head over heels for this band and this song in particular. The chorus is full of emotion and passion but is still absolutely catchy and will get stuck in your head upon your first listen (you have been warned). The chorus reminds me of The Spill Canvas but, overall, I don’t think I would compare this song to that band alone. There are a million different influences that can be heard throughout this nearly four-minute long song that span from The Spill Canvas to something a bit more mainstream like Taking Back Sunday. “Annabelle” is a journey of a song with the composition it brings and that just shows the genius behind The Marvelous Acceptance so spend some time with this song and then block out a chunk of time to dig into this band a bit more.
