Today just got a little weird with some things happening at my day job. It has me distracted on a day when I had been doing so good getting all of my stuff done. I allowed myself to drift away from work for just a minute but need to get back into it which means I need a new song to help spark that energy in me again.
Transistors are not a new band and have actually been around since 2009 but this is the first I’m hearing of them which is a shame because “High Hopes” is absolutely perfect and instantly made Transistors a new obsession of mine. There’s a heartbreaking tone to some of the vocals but, overall, this song is straight up punk. It’s a fast and dirty song that lacks any sense of perfection when it comes to the recording quality yet comes off as flawless because of it. “High Hopes” is the first single from the group’s third album which will be out at some point next year. Although from New Zealand, Transistors has touring the US before and I’m hoping that they will do it again in support of the upcoming album so I get a chance to hear “High Hopes” and all of their other amazing tracks live.
