It has only been a couple of weeks since I shared UNWELL’s “Homegrown” with you so I’m back to remind you how amazing this band is just in case you already forgot.
I love the dark and almost ambient beginning to “Leaves”. I feel like it sets the tone and almost beckons you to lean into this track deeper than any other track before hitting you with UNWELL’s distinct pop-punk and rock blend. There’s no denying the catchiness of this track. It definitely edges a bit more into the indie-rock vein of things when compared to some of the tracks I’ve heard from UNWELL but I like that about “Leaves”. I feel like it shows the multiple dimensions of this band in a brilliant way while still being true to their core sound and vibe. This isn’t the first song I’ve shared from UNWELL and it surely won’t be the last. I’m not sorry about that.
