Girl at the Rock Shows

My day was going so good. I mean, it still is, but I’m fading fast. A combination of a crappy night’s sleep with a super yummy and warm lunch of leftover tortellini soup means my eyes are getting heavy and the thought of just snoozing at my desk for a couple of minutes doesn’t sound that bad. Nope– I won’t give in. I have gotten too much done thus far and still have so much to do. Thankfully, “Moments” from LECT3R is breathing the life and energy back into me.

A combination of classic metalcore vibes and more electronic tendencies instantly made “Moments” a stand out for me. As if that wasn’t enough of a clash of genres, the vocals come in with an almost rap-metal vibe to them just adding even more confusion to the chaos but, at the same time, making me fall in love with LECT3R more and more with ever frantic beat that passed. This song goes by fast and although it’s three and a half minutes long, it definitely won’t feel like it when you listen to this. From the frantic beat to the flurry of notes that is constantly hitting your ears in just the right way, there’s something almost chaotic about the beat here but LECT3R is somehow able to make sure it never gets out of control. If this song doesn’t bring you back to life during the early-afternoon Monday slump that we all have to deal with then, honestly, you should probably just go home for the day. There’s no hope for you.
