It’s honestly a bit of a dreary day up here in the Twin Citis today. There’s a light rain drenching everything and there’s no sign of sunshine. It has me ready to take a nap even though I’ve only been up for a couple of hours at this point. I can’t just give in and nap. I have stuff to get done today so instead of giving into the darkness of outside, I am going to try and make my house as bright as I can all the way down to the music I have blasting. That’s where “Julia” from Colin Bracewell comes in.
Does Colin’s name ring a bell? It should! He’s a local kid who is truly putting Minneapolis on the map and his track “Julia” is proof of that. This song is definitely way different than my normal metal and punk infused tracks but stick with me here. The amount of beauty throughout this track is stunning. From the vocals to the instrumentation, you get a real feel for the heart and soul behind Colin’s music. This heart and soul is the reason I praise this kid so much. Even if the style isn’t for you, the warm and cozy feeling “Julia” gives you will comfort your heart and soul in such a genuine song. “Julia” is a great song for all kinds of days but, if you’re up here in the Twin Cities and feel yourself giving into the dreariness outside today, push play on “Julia” and remember how beautiful everything is even when it’s cloudy outside.
