I hope you all had an amazing holiday weekend! I know I did. I took a trip back to my hometown for the first time in about a year and a half. It was so great to see my family and some old friends but I am beyond grateful to be back home and to get back in the swing of things. It’s been a bit of a weird holiday season with the warm temperatures and a seemingly constant pattern of rain over the past couple of days but that just means that “Rain” from Emy No Joke is truly the perfect fit for today.

This five-piece Swedish band has a super fresh yet also nostalgic sound to them which comes through loud and clear throughout this three and a half minute track. The vocals are perfectly raspy giving this song a bit of a hard rock edge but, overall, I would say this is written like a pop-punk bop. It’s a cool blend making this a standout track that will grab your attention right away. To say “Rain” is anthemic would be an understatement. There are moments throughout this track that will make you want to raise your fist in the air and others that will make you want to just sit back and take it all in. This song hits and it hits hard so brace yourself and make sure you set some time aside to dig into some more of Emy No Joke’s material because after hearing “Rain”, that’s all you’ll want to do.
