Girl at the Rock Shows

Things are starting to implode at my day job. It’s nothing I did but it’s going to make it a bit of a rough afternoon so I need a powerful, anthemic, and fairly upbeat pop-punk jam to help me get through it all and, thankfully, that’s exactly what you get from “North Road” from Darcy Baker.

Beyond being just a classically solid pop-punk bop, “North Road” is a perfect example of how small the music world really is. “North Road” is actually a collaboration between Darcy Baker and their long time favorite band- Eat Your Heart Out. I mean, just think about that. Darcy Baker had been listening to Eat Your Heart Out for seemingly a long time and finally got to do a track with them. I feel like this little snippet of background on this song really magnified the amount of passion behind “North Road”. Although fun and boppy, this song comes drenched in emotion and a sense of jubilant pride. It’s a solid song with such a cool back story. It will surely have you wanting so much more from Darcy Baker while also reminding you about how all of those bands we all look up to are just humans like we are.

Okay, I got super deep on this – long story short– just take a listen to “North Road” and fall in love.
