Girl at the Rock Shows

I’m not sure what it is, but I am all up in my feelings today and seem to be finding music that matches that. That’s the case when it comes to “disengage.” from coffinfit.

This song is full of raw emotion. You get a true sense of vulnerability from the vocals during the first minute. It’s honestly a bit staggering. Even when the band comes in and takes this song off into a very punk and post-hardcore inspired sound, you still have this very genuine sense of emotion that comes through with every word. I love the way the beginning of this song sounds very Brand New inspired but, as the track goes on, you get something a bit more intense and aggressive. It’s movement like this that keeps a song interesting but can also make a song feel choppy. That’s not the case with coffinfit. coffinfit. (which is actually a solo project) does such a great job keeping all of the transitions throughout this song smooth regardless of how contrasting they are. That’s just one little slice of magic you get from this song. Listen to “disengage.” for yourself to hear all the other magical moments sprinkled throughout the three and a half minute track.
