I’m not a fan of mainstream radio rock. I’m the first one to refer to it as “butt rock” and brush it off. I know this is a flaw because I do know there are people that really love this scene and it’s a good gateway into the heavier world of music for some people but, for me, it mostly sounds like pure torture. Why am I telling you this? Well, brace yourself, I think I’m in love with “Space In Your Heart” from Unity for the Outcasts and, honestly, this is leaning a bit heavily into that vein of things.

What really hooked me with this song is the goosebump-inducing beauty that comes with the vocals and the way those are contrasted by the heavier almost electronic influenced instrumentation. There’s something almost ambient about some of what’s going on in this song. I know that makes no sense when it’s also very much an alternative metal/ hard-rock leaning song but, when you listen to it, I think you’ll get it. There’s an almost eerily ethereal vibe at points in this song that gave me chills but they were quickly followed by a more standard sounding heavy rock punch. All of these contrasting elements and ideas come together to make “Space In Your Heart” one of those tracks that, for some reason, I just can not get enough of. I have to give props where they are due and Unity for the Outcasts deserves a mad amount of props for having me fall for a song that is so out of my normal wheelhouse.
