Girl at the Rock Shows

It was an insane weekend and, honestly, it’s a bit hard to believe it’s already Monday. I won’t say I’m struggling because I got over five hours of sleep last night which is more than normal but I will say that it has been a rocky start to the week between computer issues and people with zero patience. That being said, I’m ready for a little pick-me-up kind of break. This one is coming in hot from Divorce Culture.

“FM” is the lead single from Divorce Culture’s coming EP and it will definitely get you stoked for what this band has coming out. Although they call themselves an alt-rock band, I feel like that description doesn’t do the sound of this single justice. There’s something light about this song but, at the same time, it hits you like a ton of breaks. Sure, I got a strong alt-rock vibe here but I also got little nods to some of the subgenres under the punk umbrella as this three minute song played through. Whether I was captivated by the expert guitarwork or the vocals that cut through all of the noise you may have happening in your head right now, I was hooked and there wasn’t a moment throughout “FM” where I had a suggestion of something to change or wanted something different. “FM” from Divorce Culture is a great song to kick off a Monday so check it out and show this amazing band some love.
