I’m feeling spicy right now. I could get into all of the reasons for this in great details but, long story short, don’t try and go over someone’s head and think it won’t come back to that person. Yeah, spicy, like I said and I need to take a break and come back down to earth with a little help from another new song.
Although definitely leaning a bit more pop than my typical share, there’s something about “Acid on the Dancefloor” from Acid Tongue that instantly had me hooked. There’s such a swagger to this song but it doesn’t come in standard form. Instead, it comes in punk sensibilities wrapped in strings of everything from soul to psychedelic rock creating a super unique sound that, although it has familiar elements, will come off as completely foreign to you in all of the right ways. Add the floor-stomping beat that will make even the most stubborn frown turn upside down if only for a couple of minutes and you are left with a genius track that grabs you from the get go and never lets go. The lyrics are very tongue-in-cheek but that just adds to the quirky charm of this band. “Acid on the Dancefloor” is the title track off of Acid Tongue’s fourth full-length album due out in April.
