Okay, I’m finally hitting my afternoon slump and my eyelids are getting heavy but I’ve been so good today and refuse to give up on conquering my to-do list so I need a pick-me-up. Lucky for me, the next song I have to share with you is “Unsympathetic Nervous System” from Atomic Lights and if there’s one thing I know about this band it’s that every time I hear a song from them, I get filled with joy and energy so here’s to hoping this new track is no different.
As suspected, the second that this four minute and eleven second song started, I felt a weight life off my shoulders and a spark of joy and energy in my heart. Okay, maybe that’s a little dramatic but I did instantly feel a bit more energized as this infectious punk leaning pop-punk song took over my space. The second single from Atomic Lights’ upcoming album due out this summer, “Unsympathetic Nervous System” has an undeniably catchy beat to it and an infectious chorus that will be stuck in your head for days. As the band puts it, “it’s a 4 minute punk opus geared towards folks with an affinity for sad words and crunchy chords” and, honestly, I couldn’t put it any better than that. On top of that, “sad words and crunchy chords” are right up my alley so, naturally this was a perfect track for me and, surely, some of you!
