It’s time for another break from work. I was so determined to share out a bunch of new music with you but I haven’t had a chance to drink my coffee or take a breath let alone share out a single but I can feel a breakdown building up in me which means, work be damned, I need a break and a new song to sing my heart and soul back into a chill state. That’s exactly what “Love Me Different” from Matthew S. Horner does.
As soon as “Love Me Different” started playing, I could feel a smile creep across my face and the weight of the world fall off of my shoulders. The instrumentation that kicks this song off reminds me of old-school HelloGoodbye. It’s fun, poppy, and with an electronic edge. That style changes ever so slightly as the vocals come in. Those vocals bring in a bit more angst making this a classic nostalgia-perfect kind of pop-punk song. The electronic vibe in the background continues giving this song a Reggie & the Full Effect vibe at times but, at other times, I found myself just completely captivated by Matthew’s words and the amount of heart that comes with each one. I wish I had more to say about this track but I just so badly needed this song in my life right now and I feel like I would much rather just enjoy than write so I urge you to do the same thing. Just take a breath, hit play on “Love Me Different” and enjoy the world of Matthew S. Horner!
