I’m getting anxious for tonight. Although the week off from shows was great, I’m desperate for the feeling live music to hit me and it will surely hit me hard with the rager of a show I have tonight. That being said, I still have about an hour of my day job and then a couple of hours of working and cleaning at home before I get there so I figure now is a great time to distract myself with another new track that I want to share with all of you.
“Robin’s Song” is the third single off of Seventh Floor’s upcoming album and it will hit you like a ton of bricks. The start of this three and a half minute long song is slow and steady with a very singer-songwriter vibe to it but, after about half a minute, you get treated to the larger than life sound that is Seventh Floor. Although I felt it was a big sound, it’s also not big in the general sense. Honestly, this song is way more low key than I tend to go for when it comes to the volume and lack of chaos of the track as a whole but it’s the emotional power that is packed into every note that hits you like a punch to the gut. The song bounces from a pop-punk vibe to something a bit more indie-pop but, honestly, style doesn’t matter here. From the vocals to the instrumentation, everything that Seventh Floor does in “Robin’s Song” is done with intention, beauty, and heart creating a beautiful soundscape that is so easy (and delightful) to get lost in.
