Happy Thursday, everyone. Today is actually my Friday so things are a bit crazy but that doesn’t mean I won’t be taking time out of my day to share some singles to not only keep me going, but also to keep you going on what has felt like the longest short week of all time so let’s just jump right into it, shall we?
I love songs that act like rollercoaster rides and that’s the perfect way to describe “BRAINDUMP” from hiccup. This song has some of the more brilliant and extreme rises and falls that I have heard in a long time but what makes it magic is the way this three minute song feels so cohesive and complete. The song starts off with a brash and attitude-filled intro before falling into a more indie-pop-feeling portion. There are no rules after that. From catchy hooks to moments that will fill with you rage but then wrap around you like a comforting blanket, “BRAINDUMP” is truly a ride of a lifetime. hiccup has found a way to take genres like rock, trap, and grunge (among many others) and form them all into a tight little track that will absolutely hit the spot regardless of the mood you’re in so, what are you waiting for? Turn that volume up and blast “BRAINDUMP” from hiccup right now but buckle up– you are truly in for a heck of a ride.
