Although both bands are local to me here in the Twin Cities, I have yet to see Linus or Halfway Down live. Or at least, I can’t remember ever seeing them live. I am constantly seeing their names pop up here and there though and, after hearing their new collab song “Nostalgic,” it is now my goal to see them both sooner rather than later.
Although “Nostalgic” has a bit of a dark message behind it, this pop-punk anthem is full of fun and life. It’s a song for those who can’t look into the past because it hurts too much. Although I’m not necessarily that kind of person, as I love little trips down memory lane, there are definitely some moments I’d rather not revisit, and I love the way that this song addresses that with a sense of attitude, snark, and, most importantly, heart. Overall, this is the kind of song that will get your blood pumping and set you up for success as far as your energy levels go for the day. It’s a song that begs to be witnessed live so here’s to hoping that maybe there’s a Halfway Down x Linus show coming up sooner rather than later.
