I’m definitely not from Michigan. In fact, I’ve only been to Michigan once, and it’s been years since then. That being said, I’m wondering if I would be a lot cooler if I was from Michigan after hearing this song from Miss Morning. Funny enough, this band is actually from New Jersey so where does the Michigan question come into play? I have no clue and, honestly, I don’t care. This song was more than enough to have me sold on this band.
One of the tracks from Miss Morning’s debut album, ‘Don’t Miss The Morning,’ “Bride of Frankenstein (Where In Michigan Are You From?)” is an upbeat and catchy little bop. It starts off with a singer-songwriter vibe for just a second before the vocals plunge you into a more Riot Grrrl energy. This quick two-and-a-half-minute song banters back and forth between these two worlds, giving you a taste of something just as salty as it is sweet. The composition doesn’t make sense with the way the mood changes every second of this song, but that’s what really caught my attention. My only complaint about this track is how dang short it is, but if you’re like me and love what you hear in this song, you should check out the entire EP for more magic from this New Jersey-based band.
