I’m still riding the high of last night’s show. Honestly, my morning hasn’t gone quite as planned. Work is piling up and my computer is lagging, creating an air of frustration in my office, but that high I got from seeing Amyl and the Sniffers last night is keeping me going. It won’t last. I know that. Eventually, something will break me, but between that show and new songs like “Too Smart To Not Know Better” by 100proof Kuz, I’m not giving in to the stress quite yet.

100proof Kuz (born Jonathan Kuzmack) said that this song is from the heart, and you can feel that within the first couple of words of the track. This honest and raw track is a bare and intimate view into 100proof Kuz’s mind and it’s gorgeously complicated– just like life. Although I was in the mood for something upbeat and powerful (which this song is far from, as it’s more acoustic-based), I found myself falling more and more in love with this indie/alt hip-hop meets folk artist with every passing word. I thought I would have so much to say about this track the first time I heard it, but now, as I sit here listening to this song for the umpteenth time this morning, I find myself lost for words. I think that’s because 100proof Kuz says it all in this song, and that’s what makes it such a perfect listen.
