It’s a bold move to have the same song name as your band name but, when it comes to The City Feels, it works because nothing would stop me from enjoying the crap out of their new song “The City Feels (like home).”

Do you remember when you left your parents’ house and moved out into the real world? I do. I distinctively remember my first night in my first apartment in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I got there a couple of nights before my roommate did so it was just me, a mattress my dad had gotten delivered to me, and some boxes of CDs and records. I don’t think I even had a TV yet outside of my little Hello Kitty one that was next to useless. Long story short, I had next to nothing, but I knew that this was my new home and I was never going to leave. Somehow, The City Feels has put that feeling into this song. “The City Feels (like home)” is a love letter written to Toronto about this exact feeling. That feeling you know when everything is right. Your path has been followed, and you are on your way to fulfilling your dreams. That’s a lot of emotion, a lot of thought, and a lot of depth to try and put into one song, but The City Feels did it with ease and a sense of triumphant energy that makes this song such a feel-good song. The style overall is light and bouncy and I love how it’s all served up with this slight sense of nostalgia. Need a reminder of just how far you’ve come? Listen to this song and just get lost in that moment when you knew you were home.
