Girl at the Rock Shows

I know that it hasn’t been too long since I shared the joy that is Soot Sprite’s “Days After Days” with you but, just in case you missed that or weren’t paying attention, I’m here to remind you that this band is absolutely worth your attention.

This “new” track, “Wield Your Hope Like A Weapon,” is the title track off of this group’s debut album that just came out about a month ago. As the band puts it, this song “serves as a rallying cry against apathy”. Just think about that as you let this lush and dreamy but also powerful three-minute and fifty-second song take over you body, mind, and spirit. I love how the power throughout this track is obvious and subtle at the same time. Sure, you hear the ebb and flow of sonic wizardry happening throughout the track which gives you that obvious sense of power but, as the song fades off and leaves you in silence, you realize just how much power was given to you throughout the time spent with Soot Sprite on this track. I wish I could explain a bit more about what I mean but it’s one of those things that’s just so hard to put into words to I suggest you just take a couple of minutes, check out this track, and then let it sink in in all of it’s glory.
