Girl at the Rock Shows

I don’t have a quirky intro or story for you right now. Honestly, I’m so busy with work but I’m determined to spend some time with new music today so, instead of wasting time trying to think of something to pull out of this head of mine to lead you into “Days After Days” from Soot Sprite, I think we should jump right in.

“Days After Days” is the second single from Soot Sprite’s upcoming ‘Wield Your Hope Like A Weapon’ album that is due out on May 16th via Specialist Subject. I feel like the title of that album really translates into this dreamy five-minute song. It’s a lush soundscape with no shortage of beauty but also no shortage of power. There’s something that pleads with you to be patient with yourself in this song, and that’s the mood I need in order to get through the day. I really can not put the sonic beauty of this song into words. Although there are a lot of layers throughout this song, they all make sense, and the way they fall on top of each other creates an inescapable atmosphere. “Days After Days” is not a super aggressive or in-your-face track, but it’s the kind of song that makes you stop what you’re doing and just take a couple of deep breaths, which, at the end of the day, is something we could all use a bit more of.
