I don’t have anything to say this morning. It’s been a good and quiet morning as far as my day job goes which means I’ve had a lot of time to get other stuff done and it feels good. I know this feeling won’t last and, eventually, my day job will pick up and leave me feeling frazzled and stressed today but let’s go ahead and take advantage of this calm before the storm and check out some new music starting with “Marmite” from Tremoans.
As Tremoans puts it, “”Marmite”, is a love song, it’s a hate song, it’s a breakfast song.” Truthfully, I can’t think of a better way to describe this bop. “Marmite” is a fast and furious song lasting just under a minute and a half but Tremoans packs a punch with the short time that this song will take you over. There’s this almost B-52s style to the back and forth vocals but a more punk inspired instrumentation that gives this song a special and ear-catching edge. It’s the type of song that you can listen to on repeat a couple of times and hear something new with each listen. Sure, it’s short, but spend some time with this song to really feel the magic that is Tremoans and, when you inevitably fall in love, make sure to dig into this amazing group’s other material out there.
