I am neither bored nor lonely this morning but Avondale’s new track “Bored or Lonely” is absolutely hitting the spot right now.
The second release from this Chicago / Nashville-based pop-punk band, “Bored or Lonely” is a pop-punk anthem about growing up. Okay, that’s super broad, I know, but, truthfully, that’s something that I really love about this song. It’s the kind of song that you can either find solace in on a rough day or one that will hit you like the perfect way of sunlight on a perfect day. There’s definitely a sense of nostalgia in this song overall but it doesn’t feel recycled. It reminds me of Forever the Sickest Kids but with a bit more emotion behind it. If you want to celebrate a little bit this morning, play Avondale’s “Bored or Lonely” as loud as your speakers can go. If you need a little support and a bit of a mental break, let the positive energy of this song sink in deep to your bones. Either way, you will find something about this song to fall in love with.
