Girl at the Rock Shows

I’m feeling restless today. A mixture of how amazing the show was last night and the fact that it’s a slow-moving Friday at my day job means I can’t settle into anything. I should be getting a lot done because the day job is slow, but, honestly, I’m already planning my escape out of the day job early to go home and just lie around. I’m taking this as a sign that it’s the kind of day to get lost in some new music, some new worlds, and the first world I want to explore is the world of SUPERSAURUS.

SUPERSAURUS claims that “Sunflower “is the ultimate sad summer anthem that feels like a coming-of-age scene at sunset.” I honestly couldn’t have described this song any better. Hailing from London, SUPERSAURUS has a very tender touch when it comes to their sound. There’s a slight Blink 182 vibe to some of the vocal stylings throughout this three-and-a-half-minute-long song, but it feels a bit more mature than that, a bit more sentimental and intentional in such a beautiful way. This song dabbles between indie pop and something a bit more contemporary and serious, but overall, “Sunflower” is one of those songs that just touches you. It draws you in with a sense of calm and spits you out with a warm and cozy feeling that will surely persist throughout the day.
