Girl at the Rock Shows

I don’t know where time is going. I swear I just got to the day job and now it’s already lunch time. In the bigger scheme of things, it’s already mid-July. Seriously, where is time going. I don’t know but I feel like this feeling of time escaping me is a good reason to check out the 2024 remaster of “Two Years to LIve” from Moderod.

“Two Years to Live” is not a new track. This remaster came out almost a year ago but don’t let that stop you from checking it out and falling in love. This song is under three minutes long so it moves fast but it packs a punch. The style has a very garage-punk grit to it, but more of an alt-rock kind of attitude. It’s aggressive without being abrasive and full of life without being overly angsty. The chorus of this track caught me off guard with how poppy it felt among the grit that comes through, but that’s what really sold me here. There were moments that felt very much like old-school Green Day, and others that had a more commercial, Foo Fighters-like quality behind them. The list of influences that I could name throughout this song is long but, at the end of the day, “Two Years to Live” can only be described as being a moberod song and that’s all I need to know to know that this is a band to dig into more.
