Girl at the Rock Shows

It’s honestly been a fairly good Monday morning thus far which is a bit surprising since I neglected my email all weekend and was bracing for the impact of that. I honestly think the reason it’s going so smoothly is because of all of the amazing and uplifting music I have to share with you this morning including “Free Your Mind” from REAVEN.

Trutfully, the song title lays it all out here. This is a song that reminds you that, although there may be a war raging inside of your head, you can embrace the chaos. You can lose control, you can “Free Your Mind.” I’ll be the first to admit that this song dabbles a bit deeper into the radio-friendly hard rock vein of things than I tend to go for but there’s something about the message of this song and the infectious and anthemic nature of the instrumentation that I just couldn’t resist. Parts of this song took me back to the days when I was listening to The Exies on repeat. Other moments had a more generic vibe, but overall, this song sparked something in me, and who am I to question that? I love the fact that there is music out there that may not be your typical cup of tea, but, due to the emotion and heart that a band puts into said music, it could be your new anthem. That’s absolutely the case when it comes to “Free Your Mind” from REAVEN.
