Girl at the Rock Shows

It definitely feels like a Monday. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but I don’t think I was fully prepared for the week to start after a crazy weekend and a subpar show on Sunday night. Thankfully, I have “Meet Me on the Dancefloor” from The Planet Smashers to get today started off right.

The Planet Smashers are not a new band. I’ve been listening to them for decades and was just so thrilled to see that they have a new-ish song out. “Meet Me on the Dancefloor” is one of the songs off The Planet Smashers’ new album ‘On The Dancefloor’, which came out last week on Stomp Records. This song has the same fresh and funky vibe that The Planet Smashers have always had, but it feels fresh. There’s a sense of humor behind this song with the tongue-in-cheek lyrics, but that’s just one of the many qualities of The Planet Smashers that make them such a fun and easy-to-listen-to kind of band. The horns are bombastic, the beat is hot, and, overall, this is just the perfect song to turn your Monday gloom and doom into sunshine and rainbows.
