I’m taking a break from drinking right now (for no particular reason other than I want to), but when I am in the drinking mood, Vodka Red Bull is my drink of choice. I’ve never added lemonade to that mix, but now that I think about it, it’s probably delicious. Avondale’s new song “Vodka, Red Bull, Lemonade” is so much more than just a drink idea, though, so let’s dig into it!

One of the songs off of Avondale’s latest EP, “Vodka, Red Bull, Lemonade,” is a pop-punk-perfect kind of party anthem through and through. It has your classic pop-punk styled vocals and message. As the band puts it, this song is about “escaping the rigors of growing up.” If that’s not quintessential pop-punk material, I don’t know what is. Although I really like the message of this song and found a lot of the lines of words painfully relatable, it was the infectious energy and bopiness behind this track that really had me hooked. This is truly one of those sunshine kind of songs that is best played surrounded by friends, reveling in the fact that you’re no longer a teenager, but still haven’t lost your uniqueness.
