I know I don’t typically post much on Sundays, but I am determined to get caught up on all of my work things so I’m up early and ready to tackle this insane to-do list. Although sharing new music with you all isn’t quite at the top of my list right now, it’s something that makes me happy so let’s start the day off right and check out some new music.
Everything about “Florida Days” seems to be a contrast. The instrumentation is light and fun, but the vocals feel a bit more abrasive and shouted. That being said, something about this track is super easy to fall in love with and become obsessed with. As the band puts it, this song “captures the feeling of summer days you won’t ever want to forget,” and I feel like they did a great job of portraying that with their quirky, fully DIY sounding track. Sure, I could sit here and bring up the fact that the recording quality of this track is a bit rough around the edges, but, truthfully, I feel like that just adds to the charm of this song. “Florida Days” is the third track off of a new split EP that Chub has out there so, if you like what you hear here, make sure to dig into some of their other material out there!
