I got nothing for you right now. The day is just trucking along, and I am doing my best to keep caught up on work while also pulling ahead. It’s going okay, but I’m ready for a break and a small change of speed when it comes to my daily playlist. Let’s see if checking out “Triple Pump” from The Sneak Eazies can give me that change and point me in a new direction as far as what to listen to right now.
“Triple Pump” is a ska song. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about it. You get a classic ska vibe right at the beginning of this track and it holds on throughout the nearly three and a half minute long track. Truthfully, it’s nothing new. If anything, the ska style featured in this song feels a bit more old school and vintage than anything else, but it hit me like a gust of fresh air. It’s no frills, not complicated, and absolutely perfect. The tempo is upbeat and goes from warp speed to something a bit slower and more deliberate in the blink of an eye, creating this almost start-and-stop kind of vibe to the track. I know that doesn’t sound like a good thing, but I like how it gives “Triple Pump” a sense of energy that is unique and catchy. So far this morning, I have been lost in a world of pop-punk nostalgia, but with how perfectly listening to this song hit me, I’m wondering if today will be a ska kind of day.
