I know the title of this song is a bit morbid, especially for an early Monday morning, but please do not let that stop you from starting your week off right with this amazing track from The Frickashinas. I promise that this track is not as dark as you may think and, honestly, it’s a great reminder to, as the band says, “smile more, dance more, choose happiness more.”

The Frickashinas is a four-piece punk band from Colorado that got its start during the pandemic. Although the members of this band had been in various other projects, something about this one in particular just feels so perfect. There’s an organic vibe to this track that is as irresistible as it is light as it is heavy. “Hey, do you want to watch me die again?” is a boppy little number that just adds to the depth of the track. As I mentioned, this song is about just being a bit happier, but it goes into the difficulties that come with such an easy statement. I love how this band acknowledges how hard life is and, as they mentioned, how every day can feel a bit more like a self-inflicted suicide, but if you keep climbing and don’t give up, you can see the sun. You can see the tree canopy from the lookout that stands high above the trees– basically, you can overcome. I know, deep thoughts for an early Monday morning, but trust me, you need to hear and see this amazing song from The Frickashinas.
