Happy Friday, everyone! We made it, and although this weekend is going to be absolutely insane and there will be no chance for me to sleep in, I’m excited that it’s Friday and super stoked about what this weekend will bring. Being that it will be an insane weekend, I’m not going to have a lot of time to share out new music with you, so I’m hoping to get through a lot of new tracks today, starting with “There Will Come Soft Rains” from Kurbside Villain.
“There Will Come Soft Rains” is not a song for the faint of heart. It’s an epic storytelling kind of track that lasts six and a half minutes. I know that’s pretty lengthy and a big ask for a Friday morning but trust me when I say that this song is worth your attention. There’s drama and emotion dripping from every passing second of this song. That matched with the sheer beauty and talent of Krubside Villain leaves you with a stunning piece of art that will captivate, thrill, and make you fall head over heels for this band. This is not a light song. It’s a song written by Barney (the singer and pianist) after leaving an abusive relationship. It deals with the feelings of isolation, uncertainty, and everything else that comes with this moment in life. Even if this isn’t an event that you can relate to at face value, the emotion that comes through in this song is something that we can all relate to and makes for a truly stunning song.
