I’m all about a retrospective song that makes you look back on your life. That being said, I like them a bit more when they are real. When they talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly, they do not just talk about the dazzling moments that we tell everyone about. I want to remember those moments that nobody knows about. The breakdowns, the tears, those moments when you feel like giving up. I want it all, and that’s exactly what you get when it comes to Man Gordan’s track “Welcome To Your Life”.
Don’t get me wrong, this three-and-a-half-minute song is an absolute jam, with an infectious energy and a vibe that will make you feel warm and fuzzy, while also making you smile. There’s a swagger behind this song that reminds me a bit of Barns Courtney, but the emotion and raw approach to the words remind me more of Michigander. I love how this song shines a light on life in general. It takes you through the good times, the bad, the ones that make you smile, and even the ones that make you smile. It’s raw, as mentioned, but there’s something so polished about Man Gordan’s delivery of every passing beat throughout this song. Truthfully, “Welcome To Your Life” is not a song that is meant to be analyzed; it’s a song that’s meant to be enjoyed, so I highly suggest you do just that– enjoy it.
