I’ve been in the mood for powerful and anthemic music this morning. It’s not that I’m tired, I’m honestly pretty well rested and feeling good, it’s more that I just need to feel a sense of power to help me power through this pile of work that I’m staring down. “Phantasmagoria” from Anthony Ruptak is not anthemic and powerful in the way that I’ve been searching for this morning, but it hit me like a ton of bricks, and I am so excited to share it with you.
There’s something super mature and serious about this song, but at the same time, there’s a personality that reigns supreme throughout this folk-rock track. Anthony has a message in this song that absolutely deserves your attention. It’s a message about how there’s an apocalypse coming. Whether you want to believe it or not, look around you. Things are pretty dismal, and it feels like every day is a fight for your mental health. It’s a fight not to let the stories on the news get to your head, or the doomscrolling we all do, get to your heart. There’s something about this song that reminds you that, even in this world we live in, you can find beauty and solace in knowing that you aren’t alone. As mentioned, this is a serious song, but there’s a sense of humor in the video that helps keep you from going super down a dark and twisty road in your mind. On top of that, the vocals and instrumentation are just straight-up lovely and amazing. Whether you want to get political and fall into the message of this song or would rather just press play on this and get whisked away to Anthony Ruptak’s beautiful world of sounds, I highly suggest you spend some time with “Phantasmagoria” today.
