Do you ever have this feeling in your gut that everyone hates you? It happens to me from time to time. Thankfully, today is not one of those times and, although I will always think that there’s someone out there talking about me (and not good things), I’m not dwelling on that thought today. Sure, seeing “Everybody Hates Me” from Matt Geronimo come across the desk made me start to wonder if everyone does, in fact, hate me but that was a fleeting thought because as soon as I hit play on this song, I was lost in Matt’s world.

“Everybody Hates Me” is the first single from Matt Geronimo’s debut album ‘I Feel Fine.’ I’ll be honest, this song is much poppier than I tend to go for, but don’t let that stop you from checking it out. Although it’s poppy, there’s something slightly edgy about this song that makes it have a slight lean into the pop-punk vein of things. On top of that, this song, overall, is just too dang catchy to ignore. From the beat to the smooth vocals, there’s something in this song that will surely hook you, even if pop isn’t your thing. Overall, this song has nothing super unique or ear-catching beyond the general hookiness of it all but I think that’s what makes it so great. Matt Geronimo doesn’t seem to be trying to change the world with “Everybody Hates Me” and that’s okay because this is just a through-and-through damn good song and, sometimes, that’s all you need.
