Girl at the Rock Shows

As suspected, this week is moving slowly. At the same time, it’s not. It’s already Wednesday, and I feel like I have gotten nothing done, even though it’s been moving slowly. It’s a weird and frustrating feeling. I need to snap out of this lazy rut I have found myself in. I’m not sure how I’m going to do it, but I’m hoping that checking out some new music helps to jumpstart my motivation today.

“Annie” is the first track from Medanos’ EP, ‘IS THE DREAM STILL ALIVE’, which just came out a couple of days ago. One listen to this song, and you will surely want to check out this EP as a whole. There’s power that radiates from this track within the first few seconds, but it’s not a super in-your-face kind of power. It’s the kind of power that gives me the motivation I so badly need today. Stylistically, this song is somewhere between alt-rock and punk. It’s a fast track but stops short of feeling furious, which suits the track’s subject matter. “Annie” is about a struggle with anxiety. It’s a struggle I know all too well, and I feel like Medanos has done such a great job of capturing the up-and-down feeling of an anxious mind in this song. Whether you’re an anxious soul who needs something to help bring them back to earth or just looking for a show to get the blood pumping this morning, “Annie” from Medanos is for you.
