If you haven’t been able to tell, I’ve been super torn about whether I should be sharing out new music and going to shows right now. We had a small win up here in Minneapolis with the ousting of Greg Bovino yesterday but that is just a battle. The war is far from done and I am still having an inner battle about how active to be on here with the shares and what not. I wrote about this yesterday and had a few people reach out telling me that they want to see more from me. That they are finding a small sense of solace in my shares and a small moment of escape with new music so I’ve decided to get back to normal in a way when it comes to sharing out songs. This is not to be insensitive to what’s going on up here in Minneapolis and across the country with ICE but more to just give people somewhere to go to take a break and regain some energy to get back out there and fight the system.

The first song I have to share with you today is “305” from Wild Spelks. If you want a bouncy, upbeat song to take you away from the insanity happening outside, this is the one for you. It’s a little retro with a slight Jimmy Eat World kind of vibe but there’s also a grit to it that reminds me a bit of bands like Joyce Manor and Jeff Rosenstock. Although this is a super fun and infectious little bop, every second of this three minute and five second song is full of heart and passion in all of the right ways. It’s not abrasive but it will surely catch your attention and pull you into Wild Spelks world in such a perfect way. If you like what you hear here, I highly suggest you check out some of the other material from Wild Spelks that is out there.
