Happy Friday, everyone. We made it. There was a time this week when I wasn’t sure that Friday was ever going to come but now it’s here and I couldn’t be happier. This calls for a celebration in the form of some new music starting with “Princess Idiot” from sugardeer.
The latest single from Cleveland, Ohio-based sugardeer, “Princess Idiot” is a fun and catchy little chamber pop song that will instantly win your heart over. Although I would say this song is super situated in the chamber pop/ indie rock vein of things, there’s a grit and strength to the song that gives it this little edge that sparkles almost as brightly as the talent that can be heard throughout the song. I love the fact that you go through a range of emotions throughout this song. It starts off light and fluffy but, as the track goes on, sugardeer hits you with something a bit more brash and almost frustrated as the story tells the story of what seems to be a doomed relationship. This song is crisp and clean and will absolutely leave you wanting more from sugardeer.
