I feel like both this band name and song title are a bit cliche. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but how many times have you heard either of these phrases especially in a good ol’ fashioned emo song (shout-out to Bayside). Although that’s where my head went as soon as I saw this song come across my email, I instantly got excited because, although these phrases may be a dime a dozen, something in my gut told me that this song is going to be so much more than cliche.

My gut was right. Although this explosive anthem definitely fits the mold of many other emo and pop-punk bands before them, there’s something fresh and timeless about this high energy skate punk trio from Melbourne, Australia. I like how everything about this song is super crisp and clean yet there’s no shortage of grit behind this song giving it this DIY ethos kind of vibe. Sure, the lyrics tell a tale as old as time but, again, the delivery of said story makes it so easy to fall into every word and every beat of this powerful, three minute and fifty second song. I wish I had more to say about this song or Blame It On Bad Luck but, honestly, I think this is one of those songs and bands that you will fall in love with on first listen regardless of what I have to say so go ahead– give this single a spin!
