Girl at the Rock Shows

I’m crabby today. Honestly, there’s no reason for it other than the fact that this weekend spent at Big Turn Music Fest felt like a dream and the reality of being back at my day job this morning is a painful pill to swallow. I can’t let this get the best of me. I have to snap out of it and brace myself for an insane week so let’s try and push those crabby feelings out by checking out “Human\” from Deer Mx.

This isn’t a new song. It came out two years ago but I had never heard of this band or song before and, as I always say, if it’s new to me, it’s surely new to some of you as well. This song may have been a bit before it’s time. It’s a song about how AI is taking over and how maybe that’s not necessarily a good thing. I love how this song has a very electronic kind of influence behind it but it hits just like any flawless and powerful metal-leaning track would. There’s a sense of frantic desperation that I picked up on this song which helped me create this picture in my head of a portion of society just trying their best to literally outrun AI taking over the world. It played out like an epic thrille-styled adventure movie. I know, dramatic, but there’s something just so vivid and perfect about Deer mx’s sound that it’s hard not to let it take over your mind and heart.
