I’m trying to stay cool, calm, and collected today but it’s getting harder with every new email that comes in. It’s just one of those days. They happen and I’ll make it through but you know when you’re in the midst of one of these days and you just can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel even though you know it’s there. That’s where I’m at right now but thankfully I have “Apathy” from Last Second Dropout to at least distract me and maybe give me a little peek at that light at the same time.

This furious pop-punky song is about how, although love and hate are very opposite things, there are similarities in the fact that both feelings mean and show that you care. I like how you kind of get both sides of the coin with this song. There’s salty and spicey, tenderness and angst all wrapped up in this powerful single that emits such an insane amount of emotion that it will surely knock you on your butt in all of the right ways. The video that comes with this song is pretty simple. It depicts the band playing in a super cool, brick room and then flashes to various other settings that, like the brick room, feel so simple and plain but there’s something about the movements that you get in the video and the slight in and out of focus that happens at times that seems to just be so perfect even though it’s so subtle. Don’t just listen to “Apathy” by Last Second Dropout and don’t just watch the music video. Let this song sink into your soul and, like the band says, “Remember that in dark times the greatest gift we can give others is our love and attention.”
