Is anyone else sick of technology? I stopped wearing my smart watch. More often than not, I have no clue where my cellphone is when I’m at home. My boyfriend and I now get the Sunday paper delivered to the house. We got rid of Amazon and are in the process of retrofitting our stereo system so we can get rid of our Alexa speakers. Long story short, we are just one step away from going “Offline.” Okay, that’s not entirely true as I would absolutely die without the internet but you get what I’m saying and this is such the perfect slice of cheesy insight into my life to lead into “Offline” from T.F.V.
“Offline” is a new single from T.F.V (which stands for Time for Vomit) and it will instantly catch your ears and your heart. This song is fast and furious and has an almost Goldfinger styled fun-loving punk edge to it but there’s also something a bit more gritty and angsty about this song that, at times, felt like something that would pair so perfectly with old-school Sum 41. The track is about the frustration of trying to reach someone who is unavailable. That can either be figuratively or literally. Either way, this song has a feeling of panic at times, desperation at others, and no shortage of a punk passion and ferocity that makes the two and a half minute song feel like it’s over in just the blink of an eye. Although it moves fast, “Offline” packs a punch and will definitely leave you wanting so much more from T.F.V.
