I would love to go cloud surfing. I know that’s not a thing but, don’t you think it would be fun to hop on some clouds? You know, the big cotton candy, fluffy looking ones? Okay, maybe that’s just me and this is where my mind wanders when I allow it to. Today is one of those wandering mind kind of days. I’m already frustrated with work. Already feeling that familiar sound of drowning so, the second I saw the band name Cloudsurfers, I let my mind wander. Now that I’m slightly back on earth in my head, let’s check out “Daddy Issues” from this band.

“Daddy Issues” is the first single from Cloudsurfers’ upcoming album and it will absolutely grab your attention within the first few seconds. You could call this song rock, garage-punk, post-rock, you could call it a lot of things but there’s one thing that is not blurry about this song and that’s the energy that comes through loud and clear throughout the entire two minute and forty-one second track. This song feels like chaos. It tastes like sweat and a mosh pit. It sounds like pure magic. Although it’s an intense track with mostly shouted lyrics, there’s a curation to this song that lets you see many sides of Cloudsurfers. You get the angst but you also get this feeling of comfort and understanding about halfway through the song when the slamming drums seem to take a backseat to the soaring guitars and powerful vocals. If you need a pick-me-up, this is the song for you!
