I don’t know why, but this performer’s name makes me giggle. There’s something just so simple yet so perfect about calling an act FRANK. I mean, obviously, the easy answer to why the name FRANK would be because of that is the name of the songwriter behind this project, but that would be false, as FRANK is the moniker for Sydney Elliott. Although I may never know why it’s called FRANK or why I find it so funny, I do know that I want to hear so much more from FRANK after hearing “IN LIMBO”.

“IN LIMBO” will have your mind literally stuck in limbo. This song is creepy, eerie, and haunting, but it’s also stunning, gorgeous, and full of this grunge kind of attitude that will instantly grab you by the throat until the emotions evoked from this track shake you free. I love how Sydney’s vocals are so smooth and so classically perfect, but there’s this subtle sense of grit behind the words, and when matched with the almost whisper kind of tone that the vocals take at times throughout this four-minute track, you get a sound that will dare you to skip the track. You won’t be able to. Between those vocals and the more indie-rock leaning kind of backdrop, there’s something about “IN LIMBO” that will leave you under a spell.
