Girl at the Rock Shows

Happy Thursday, everyone. We’ve almost made it through the week, and although my weekend is going to be absolutely insane as I attempt to cover over thirty bands at the Caterwaul festival happening here in the Twin Cities, I’m ready for it to be the weekend but we aren’t there quite yet so let’s fill today with some new music to help the time move a bit faster, shall we?

ISOMETRIC is an upstate New York pop-punk band formed in 2022. Although 2022 is years after the golden age of pop-punk (and, no, that’s not up for discussion), they have a nostalgic sound that makes them perfect for a pop-punk princess like myself who refuses to think that pop-punk is dead. There’s a very strong New Found Glory kind of vibe to this song with the infectious energy that radiates throughout the three and a half minute long song. That mixed with the chutzpah that the band puts into their track, but sonically and emotionally makes “Back To You” the kind of pop-punk anthem that will stop you in your tracks and make you reminisce about years gone by with a giant smile on your face. At the same time, it will have you craving more new pop-punk because ISOMETRIC brings a distinct, fresh sound to the classic sound.
